Photography of an awesome nature…

At Monsoon Studio we love photography. A fresh eye and a bright bearing are bought to every opportunity. It’s the details that count. Get in touch about your next great idea or project and we will help bring it to life!

I have been a photographer for the last 38 years and I love it as much today as I did when I first bought a print to life in a red darkroom at high school. I went on to RMIT University in Melbourne where I did an Applied Science Degree specialising in Scientific Photography. Then I became a photographic assistant working for a mix of advertising and commercial photographers which then led onto starting a business and becoming a photographer.

Highlights on the journey so far have been an amazing start in Melbourne, wonderful personal projects such as the Tiwi Footy Book, the incredibly energised people and places of the Northern Territory and Kimberley and now north Queensland.

Other

Peter also lives photography as a way to express and explore. He fell for the power of the still image at school in 1985 and has been exploring the medium ever since. Sprung from university and a developing practice in Melbourne he has traveled, spent 15 years working in the Northern Territory and now resides in North Queensland. His photography documents human interaction with the natural environment and his evocative images are regularly published in national editorial journals, newspapers, art magazines and shown in art galleries nationally. Well known for his versatile approach and fresh eye, Peter has a unique ability to capture community life and distinctive personalities in isolated and regional Australia, while his landscape images encapsulate the essence of wilderness and place. Preservation of culture and wilderness feature strongly in his work. The creative spirit is ever-present with photography, graphic design, illustration, fine wood-work and gardening.
